Barclays Bank

The relocation of Barclays Bank from its
headquarters in the City into a purpose built 34-storey building at Canary Wharf took two years to complete.

The 670,000sft fit-out included 18 office floors, executive and meeting areas, an auditorium, a restaurant and a sports facility.

The design for the meeting spaces in the five 6-storey high atria was developed in conjunction with the renowned American landscape designer Martha Schwartz.

A specific design requirement was the integration of artwork throughout the building. Special artwork was commissioned from various London artists. The main piece, a sculpture by acclaimed British artist Antony Cragg can be found in the public reception of the building.
